Peter Soto is an award winning cinematographer working in all genres and mediums. His list of credits include over 70 shorts films, several features and dozens of branded content spots and music videos. Commercial clients include, Toyota, Ford, Doritos, SafeLite, True Botanicals, Cartoon Network, Sling TV, Big Fig and PUBG.
Peter absolutely loves working with independent filmmakers on both long and short form narratives and has been recognized for his cinematography with two nominations and one win at various film festivals around the world. Two branded content spots he lensed took top honors at the 2019 and 2023 Telly Awards. His narrative work has taken him all over the country and the world, working on films in Vietnam, The Philippines, Nicaragua and Norway. Many of these films have been honored on the festival circuit.
Peter is an '06 alum of Film Independent's Project: Involve program where he was mentored by academy award winner, John Toll, ASC ("Legends of the Fall, "Braveheart").
Peter has taught advanced cinematography courses at both Pasadena City College in Pasadena, California and at Loyola Marymount University's School of Film and Television in Los Angeles, California, recently ranked in the top five film schools by The Hollywood Reporter. He loves the great outdoors and is based out of Kalispell, Montana where he enjoys hiking and kayaking with his family when he's not on set.
